Co-develop a responsible AI framework with us at RightsCon
We have been hearing versions of the same questions across the organisations we work with: Should we use AI for social media monitoring during a campaign? Can I trust an AI-generated report? What is the risk to our organisation if a partner is using AI?
These are always explored and addressed during our sessions, but we wanted to build something that can be used at scale. At RightsCon, which takes place in Zambia from May 5 to 8, we are running a working session designed to build a usable framework for human rights organisations navigating AI, in both directions: the risks and opportunities of using AI in our own work, and the risks of AI being used against us. The session itself is the first step, with a small working group of participants who will shape the draft over the following six weeks. Co-creators will be named, with open questions included to keep the framework an evolving document.
No technical background is required to join the workshop. We expect a wide variety of experiences in the room, mostly people currently making AI and technology decisions in human rights organisations, at any level.
If you are attending RightsCon 2026, the session is on Wednesday, May 6, at 10:15am at the Banquet 1 room. You can add it to your schedule directly here.
If you cannot be there but want to be part of the post-workshop drafting or just discuss this topic, feel free to email us at hello@tecer.digital.
